Your questions, answered.

How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Glasgow?

+

It depends on the size of the room, layout changes, tile choice, sanitaryware grade and extras such as underfloor heating or a full wet room. We don’t publish fixed packages. Our enquiry form uses budget bands from under £5,000 to £12,000+, so you can tell us where you’d like to land and we’ll talk through realistic options.

How long does a bathroom renovation take?

+

A straightforward ensuite is usually quicker than a full family bathroom with layout changes, electrics and underfloor heating. Waterproofing and adhesives also need cure time before the next stage can start. We give you a project-specific timeline at consultation, including how long you’ll be without a working bathroom.

Do I need a building warrant for a bathroom in Scotland?

+

Replacing a bathroom like for like doesn’t usually need a building warrant. Work that changes drainage, structure or ventilation can, and flats or listed buildings may need extra consent. We flag anything that might need approval at consultation, and your council’s building standards team can confirm for your property.

What is tanking and why does it matter?

+

Tile and grout are not waterproof on their own. Tanking is the waterproof layer applied behind the tiles in showers and wet rooms, so water that gets through the finish can’t reach the walls or floor. We tank every shower and wet zone before it is tiled.

Should I choose a walk-in shower or a wet room?

+

A walk-in shower usually uses a low tray or a defined shower zone with glass. A wet room is fully tanked with the floor laid to falls toward a drain, which suits level access and a completely open space. We recommend one after seeing the room and hearing how you use it.

Can you fit a walk-in shower in a small bathroom?

+

Often, yes. Fixed glass panels and a careful layout can free up floor space compared with a full-size bath. Very small rooms may suit a compact enclosure better than a wide open walk-in.

Can you renovate a bathroom in a Glasgow tenement flat?

+

Yes. Tenement bathrooms often have high ceilings, older timber floors and shared stairs. We check the floor construction, drainage runs and access first, and plan deliveries and noisy work with neighbours and the factor in mind.

Can I supply my own suite and tiles?

+

Yes. We confirm the products suit the room and that quantities are right before work starts. If you’d rather have help choosing, we can guide you through tiles, sanitaryware and shower systems.

Can I use my bathroom during the work?

+

Usually not for most of the project. We tell you at consultation how long the room will be out of use so you can plan around it.

Who do I speak to during the project?

+

Anna looks after scheduling and updates, and Adrian leads the work on site, so you always know who to call.
